On death threats: "We have hundreds of specific death threats from US military militants. That is not unusual, and we have become practiced from past experiences at ignoring such threats from Islamic extremists, African kleptocrats and so on. Recently the situation has changed with these threats now extending out to our lawyers and my children. However it is the specific calls from the elites of US society for our assassination, kidnapping and execution that is more concerning. These range from a US senate bill by John Ensign which seeks to declare us a "transnational threat" to assassination calls from former Bush speechwriters such as Marc Thiessen in The Washington Post and Bill O'Reilly of Fox News."

Thousands Converge at the gates of Fort Benning for 20th Anniversary of November Vigil to Close the School of the Americas (renamed Western Hemisphere Institute for Security Cooperation), also known as SOA - "The School of Assassins".
Thousands of torture survivors, veterans, faith-based communities, union workers, students, musicians, human rights activists and others from across the Americas are gathered today at the gates of the U.S. military base Fort Benning to call for the closure of the School of the Americas .
During the protest, the names of the torture, rape and murder victims of graduates of the school are read by the participants.
Many of the notorious human rights violators responsible for rape, torture, kidnapping, assassination and disappearance of thousands of people in Latin America and elsewhere were/are graduates of the School of the Americas.
Among them are generals Leopoldo Galtieri, Efraín Ríos Montt and Manuel Noriega, dictators such as Bolivia's Hugo Banzer and many of Augusto Pinochet's officers.
Members of the infamous Atlacatl Battalion of El Salvador who carried out the El Mozote massacre in El Salvador were also trained at SOA.
A database with graduates of both the SOA and WHINSEC who have been accused of human rights violations and other criminal activity is kept by The School of the Americas Watch, an advocacy organization founded by Father Roy Bourgeois and a small group of supporters in 1990 to protest the training of mainly Latin American military officers, by the United States Department of Defense at the School of the Americas (SOA).
SOA Watch conducts a vigil each November at the site of the academy, in protest over the murders, rapes and torture and contraventions of the Geneva Accord committed the graduates of the academy or under their leadership.
Today, November 20, 2010, is the 20th Anniversary of this November Vigil and regardless the well known abuses committed by some of the graduates of the School, it is kept open by the United States and in 2000 the United States Congress renamed the School of the Americas the Western Hemisphere Institute for Security Cooperation (WHINSEC).
Navy Physician Dr.Thomas Narut's doctoral thesis was on whether certain films could provoke anxiety and whether forcing a man to do tasks irrelevant to the film while watching it might help him to cope with the anxieties the film provoked. Later, as per Narut's statements to British clinical psychologist and writer Peter Watson, Narut's work appeared to involve establishing how to induce servicemen to kill under certain condition.
Narut declared that at the Naval Neuropsychiatric Laboratory Center in San Diego, California, men were "given a special type of "Clockwork Orange" training aimed at reducing and eliminating any qualms they had about killing human beings.

The U.S. military has confirmed the authenticity of newly-released video showing U.S. forces indiscriminately firing on Iraqi civilians. On Monday, the website WikiLeaks.org posted footage taken from a U.S. military helicopter in July 2007 as it killed twelve people and wounded two children.
The New York Times reported on March 14, 2010 that Michael Furlong is now under criminal investigation been accused of running an off-the-books spy operation with the help of private contractors.
The contractors come from private security companies that employed among others, former CIA and Special Forces operatives and also a figure of the Iran-Contra scandal.
The network of private contractors was set up to help track and kill people Furlong's people saw as suspect militants.
Mr. Furlong is said to have extensive experience in “psychological operations”.
In conversations with him and his colleagues, he referred to his stable of contractors as “my Jason Bournes,” in a reference to the fictional American amnesiac assassin Jason Bourne, played by Matt Damon in the movies The Bourne Identity (2002), The Bourne Supremacy (2004), and The Bourne Ultimatum (2007).
Among contractors the retired Air Force official appears to have used are: - International Media Ventures, a private “strategic communication” firm run by several former Special Operations officers. Until recently, one of the members of International Media’s board of directors was Gen. Dell L. Dailey, former head of Joint Special Operations Command, which oversees the military’s covert units. - American International Security Corporation, a Boston-based company run by Mike Taylor, a former Green Beret that also had employed Duane Clarridge, former top C.I.A. official linked to the Iran-Contra scandal.
Clarridge denies that he had worked with Furlong in such operations.

PINOCHET - On September 11, 1973, with the support of the United States, Chilean general Augusto Jose Ramon Pinochet Ugarte , overthrew the democratically elected Chilean president, Salvador Allende.
The presidential palace was bombed and Allende killed in the attack.
Pinochet put into place a regime which knew no bounds - Rape, torture, false imprisonment and dozens of other human rights offenses were leveled at him.
It is estimated 27,000 people were ripped from their homes, never to be heard from again.
He was deposed of power in 1990, though remained a senator for life.
In 1998, he visited the United Kingdom with his wife for medical treatment. Once in the country, a combination of civil rights groups and a Spanish arrest warrant combined to create a political firestorm. Would General Pinochet be extradited to Spain to stand trial for over 300 human rights violations?

Víctor Lidio Jara Martínez (September 28, 1932 – September 15, 1973) was a Chilean teacher, poet, singer-song writer and political activist. Shortly after the September 11, 1973 Chilean coup, he was arrested, tortured and ultimately shot to death by machine gun fire. His body was later thrown out into the street of a shanty town in Santiago, Chile's capital. The contrast between the themes of his songs, on love, peace and social justice and the brutal way in which he was murdered transformed Jara into a symbol of struggle for human rights and justice across Latin America.
On May 28, 2009,36 anos após Jara's torture and murder, a 54-year-old former Army conscript, Jose Adolfo Paredes Marquez, was formally charged with his murder. https://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jos%C3%A9_Adolfo_Paredes_M%C3%A1rquez
